Funny World !!
The more I try to understand the world, the more confused I am………..the people in this world are funny and that makes this world a funnier place.
There is no value for hard work and sincerity. People only value other people whom they are afraid of. The new law of the world seems to be, ” Where there is fear, there is value.”
I have seen several examples of this around me. The best examples I have seen in one of my earlier company where nobody seems to acknowledge & appreciate and value the hard work, sincerity, honesty and quality of work if they are not afraid of you. Only if they feel that you could harm them (and mind it …….harm means…only monetary harm) they will run after you and will do anything for you.
If you have good intentions for them and you cannot give any monetary harm to them then they will never care about you and will never value you or your qualities.
These people are afraid only of monetary losses and by their ways and means they are changing the very face of the world. These people not only promote dishonesty, insincerity, lack of responsibility but are also helping these blood-suckers grow. Seeing what is going around them even the good people start thinking of becoming bad for the sake of getting recognition to their efforts.
What goes on is beyond the understanding of the simple mind and seems to be like a mind boggling tale. One fails to understand where this world would end. Friends become foes………but as they can provide monetary harm they are forcibly turned into friends again by using the force of money and other goodies, even when the feelings are not there.
I even remember my Director literally crying in front of me that this particular guy had done so wrong with him and also instructed me never to talk to him as he was characterless and because he had done harm to the director and to the company…………………….and then suddenly one day I see that the same man walks into the office……….not only he had re-joind but had re-joined at a much higher status and with better pay-scale and better package and also with a lot of goodies.
It’s true that the corporate world has no ethics. Human ethics, human feelings, human values …all have been buried for the sake of benefit…….just the monetary benefit is what actually matters.
At the end of this thought process I still can’t figure out anything that happens and goes on around me……….I just know one thing…..this world is actually a very funny world !!!
P.S. : My inquisitive and sensitive mind wants to know whether sensitive men, with emotions & human feelings exist in the corporate world today or not. Therefore the poll below. Please participate in the poll and express your views.
In Employer-employee relationship, there is no room for sentiments and emotions and despite realizing this fact, tactfully the employees are forced to get plunged into that situation again. We need to Wake up to this reality !!!
I was full of zeal when joined my present company and had firm & solid plans for taking the product (i am looking after)to great heights but after 2-3 nmonths I was on ground due to heirarchy system in this company as power vested in only and only one hand.Every body fighting for the credit for work done by others and I really realized that in this Funny world 80% people are those who are only indulge in taking credits and only 20% are the doers.If I had to choose than I will choose the category of 20% only as there is less competition.
I also realized that BECOME A BOSS is very easy but TO BE A BOSS IS VERY DIFFICULT.
Rajiv I would probably agree with what you said, sentiments and finances don’t go hand in hand unfortunately, as emotions don’t bring in the dosh, however at the same time I must agree with Shailesh as sometimes the world is an apprently unfair one where you either have to kiss ass or you sit in the 20% doing all the hard work but someone else gets the credit.
I guess the choice is up to you, I used to do the 20% role working an average of 15 hours a day yet stay quite about it hoping someone would notice; guys that just doesn’t pay back in this century’s corporate agenda, actually what you need to do is be the 20% but with an uplift in your approach, i.e. make sure the world and his wife know what it is you have delivered, but keep your project quite until completed as trust me someone else with steal your idea and chances are deliver the product quicker than you and take all the glory and the dollars.
Ofcourse, you could just make life easy and joing the 80%.
